O Get Organized

Eliminate clutter in each room before cleaning. Use 4 box method: keep, donate, sell or toss.

O Wash Windows

Wash windows on a cloudy day to avoid streaks. Wipe out sliding door tracks.

O Clean Overlooked Surfaces

Wash baseboards, door frames and walls if needed, with warm soapy water.

O Deep-Clean Carpets

Hire a professional carpet cleaner or rent a deep cleaner to wash carpets.

O Clean Under Large Items

Lift furniture and roll up area rugs before vacuuming floors. Also, vacuum behind and under kitchen appliances.

O Dust Light Fixtures

Use a microfiber cloth to dust fixtures and light bulbs. Don’t forget to dust ceiling fans and blades.

O Battery Check

Check the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Purchase a fire extinguisher if you don’t have one or your current one has expired.

O Clean Window Treatments

Vacuum curtains and draperies with an upholstery attachment.

O Don't Forget...

  • Open windows to let in the fresh air.
  • Clean out the car’s interior and wash interior and exterior.
  • Shred old documents and file important papers and do the same to your digital files too.
